All New LEAF Announced
The Icon Returns: All-New Nissan LEAF Leads the Charge into an Electric Future
The car that sparked a revolution is back—bolder, smarter, and more electrifying than ever. In 2025, the legendary Nissan LEAF enters its third generation, reaffirming its place as the pioneer of everyday electric mobility. First launched in 2010, the LEAF became a global icon, introducing the world to practical, zero-emissions driving. Now, it's set to lead a new wave of innovation as part of Nissan’s next-generation EV offensive.
Manufactured at Nissan’s state-of-the-art Sunderland plant—the beating heart of the UK automotive industry—the new LEAF will roll off the production line later this year, featuring a sleek, aerodynamic design and cutting-edge technology built on the CMF-EV platform shared with the Nissan ARIYA.
But the LEAF is just the beginning.
In 2025, Nissan will also unveil the all-new, all-electric Micra, redesigned in London by Nissan Design Europe. Stylish, compact, and packed with personality, the new Micra will offer up to 248 miles of range, with a choice of two battery sizes (40kWh and 52kWh). It will be built at the Ampere ElectriCity plant in Douai, France, and marks a bold new chapter for the beloved city car.
Meanwhile, Sunderland’s 6,000-strong workforce will also begin producing upgraded versions of the ever-popular Qashqai, now featuring Nissan’s unique e-POWER technology for enhanced efficiency and refinement.
And coming in fiscal year 2026, Nissan will launch the next-generation Juke, which—for the first time ever—will be available as a fully electric model.
These new models are part of Nissan’s EV36Zero vision, a £1bn+ project that will transform Sunderland into a flagship EV manufacturing hub, integrating EV production, battery gigafactory output, and renewable energy sources.
With the LEAF leading the charge once again, Nissan is not just building cars—it’s building the future of driving.
